What is FileZilla?
FileZilla is a powerful and free software for transforming files over the internet. It is a cross platform application, consisting of FileZilla client and FileZilla server. The main purpose of FileZilla is to make it easy for you to upload and download files from your Web hosting server. Also you can edit the files and save changes without downloading and uploading. FileZilla supports Windows, Linux and Mac OS.
How to install FileZilla?
First download the FileZilla Software from https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?show_all=1
FileZilla installation on Windows
Installation of FileZilla on the windows is very simple. Log In to your Window with an administrator account. After downloading of the correct package, just click on .exe file.
The License Agreement screen will appear.
Accept the License, by clicking on ‘I Agree’ button.
On the next screen, you should decide whether every user on the OS can work the FTP client or only the admin account can access the FTP Client.
Click on the ‘Next’ button to proceed.
Select the components which you want to install.
Then, Click the ‘Next’ button.
The Next window allows you to set the destination folder for the FileZilla installation.
Continue, by clicking the ‘Next’ button.
Choose the Start Menu folder and click on the ‘Install’ button.
The installation is completed. You can leave the Start FileZilla now check box checked and click on the ‘Finish’ button. This will start your FileZilla FTP client.
After completion of the above instructions, now you can use FileZilla.
How to use FileZilla?
Open FileZila, and follow the steps.
- Add the domain name on the address field.
- Enter Username and Password you need to type in are the same as the ones you use to log in to your cPanel.
- The FTP port is 21, it automatically filled.
- Click ‘Quickconnect’ button. Now, find the www directory and double click on it.
- Select the files to upolad and drag-and-drop them under the www folder. Wait for transfer to be completed.
Note: To use a FileZilla behind Firewalls. Select a Passive mode and Choose “use the server’s external IP address instead” .
